(11/25/13) Once a month, employees of Black River Memorial Hospital dress down for a local charity, recently donating $100 to Together for Jackson County Kids. (TFJCK)
Together for Jackson County Kids is a county-wide partnership of concerned citizens committed to enhancing community wellness by promoting positive values and choices and eliminating the negative impact of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, violence, and related youth risk behaviors. The organizational goals are:
Strengthen collaboration between local prevention partnership council members and other community based youth serving organizations.Reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use among Jackson County youth by promoting community and family protective factors.Conduct a comprehensive Community Assessment to measure community resources and needs.Measure and record youth risk factors, positive behaviors, and substance abuse statistics.Provide community education through media, literature and programming.Promote healthy lifestyle choices through education, providing resources and coalition activities.
Lisa Listle, project director for TFJCK, said, "We rely on generous organizations like Black River Memorial Hospital and grant funding to remain an active part in promoting healthy choices for area youth. We are so grateful to the staff of Black River Memorial Hospital for thinking of us."
