Eau Claire Man Wants to Know Where His Grandfather is Buried

(11/25/13) An Eau Claire man recently learned that his grandfather's ashes were not buried in his grandmother's grave like they were supposed to.

Funeral home owner Randall Mundt of Altoona did not cause the problem -- but he says he's willing to fix it.  Mundt acquired the Cremation Society of Wisconsin, and he acquired several dozen sets of remains that were never claimed.  When the numbers of unclaimed ashes got down to 20, Mundt wrote a column in the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram, where Louis Arbs saw his grandfather's name Louis.  He died in 1946, and his grandson told the paper that Arbs' ashes were supposed to be tucked inside the grave of his grandmother, who died in 1960.  No one knows why it didn't happen, but the Cremation Society promises to make things right.  Arbs says he just wants to know where his grandfather is.
