(11/29/13) Time is getting short for those individuals seeking health insurance coverage through the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace to start on January 1, 2014.
While individuals have until March 31, 2014 to comply with the Federal insurance mandate, those seeking coverage that begins on January 1, 2014 will need to enroll by no later than December 23, 2013. In anticipation of increased demand, the Western Region Enrollment Network will be making additional Certified Application Counselors available during the first week of December for individuals wanting face-to-face local enrollment assistance. In addition to those seeking private insurance through the Federal Marketplace, help will be available for those who may be eligible for Medicaid, BadgerCare Plus and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
When, Where and What to Bring: Monday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Tuesday Dec 3rd through Friday Dec 6th from 8:30 a.m. until 3 pm. All five sessions will be held at La Crosse County's Administrative Center, 400 4th St N, in the County Board Room (lower level).
Individuals planning on coming should have with them all participant Social Security numbers or document number for legal immigrants, employer and income information for every household member who needs coverage (pay stubs or W-2 forms) and policy numbers for any current health insurance plans covering members of the household.
In addition, it is necessary to have the "Employee Coverage Tool" completed. This can be found online at www.lacrossecounty.org./humanservices/aca under "Market Place Application Check list"
This event is scheduled for Buffalo, Clark, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Pepin, Trempealeau & Vernon County residents, but will also serve any Wisconsin resident. Additional information about the Affordable Care Act and other local enrollment assistance that is available throughout the 8 counties can be found on the Western Region Enrollment Network website, http://www.lacrossecounty.org/humanservices/aca/.
