(12/4/13) Marianne Torkelson of Black River Falls has been named Co-op Credit Union's Vice President – Business Development and Training.

President/CEO Eric Chrisinger made the announcement November 12th.  Torkelson will supervise the Marketing Coordinator, lead business development initiatives and continue to be the staff trainer.

Torkelson joined CCU in 2012 as a staff trainer.    Chrisinger said, "All who are employed by the credit union are considered its ambassadors, whether on the job or away – but it is time there is a leader of business development efforts and Marianne is a good fit for that position."

"I'm excited about the appointment and the opportunity to enhance the relationships we have with our members," said Torkelson.  "Providing services that improve their quality of life is what the credit union is all about."

Marianne was employed by Western Technical College as a Product Development and Sales Coordinator for the Business & Industry Services division just prior to her joining Co-op Credit Union in 2012.  In her role there, she worked with businesses throughout the region developing and coordinating training initiatives that addressed the needs of the organizations she served.

She has served on church council, the Chamber of Commerce Board, among others, and currently serves on the Western Wisconsin Workforce Development Board.
