(2/1/14) The son of Trempealeau County Sheriff Richard Anderson faces charges.

32 year-old Michael Anderson, also a detective with the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department, was charged Thursday with battery and disorderly conduct for reportedly hitting 26 year-old Tanner Daffinson, a former sheriff's office employee and the son of Terry Daffinson, who lost sheriff's elections in 2006 and 2010.  According to the La Crosse Tribune, the incident occurred back in November at an area tavern when Anderson was off duty.  Sheriff Richard Anderson immediately called on Chief Deputy Brian Puent to handle the matter.  Charges were filed in Trempealeau County Court by Pepin County District Attorney Jon Seifert, who is serving as special prosecutor in the case. Jackson County Detective Kelly Bakken served as investigator.  Each charge has a maximum penalty of nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine. Michael Anderson's initial court date is set for February 11th.
