Equipment Fire Report

 (2/6/14) On 02-05-2014 at 16:20 the Black River Falls Fire Department was paged for a logging processor fire at N2715 Wyman Lake Club Road off Hwy 12 in the township of Millston.

The Jackson County Emergency Dispatch Center was reporting at the time of the page out the equipment was fully involved.

Upon arrival the department found a John DeereFeb Tech 120 with heavy fire involvement. The equipment was not near any structures and had just been walked out of the woods where it had been cutting trees all day on a logging operation.

The operator reports smoke coming from the engine area and upon investigating found the unit to be on fire. The operator had attempted to put the fire out with fire extinguishers.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and an fire damage – loss is estimated at around $40,000.

The equipment is owned by Todd's Tree and Shrub Service of Tomah, WI.

The department was on scene just over 30 minutes to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported.
