(3/21/14) La Crosse County UW-Extension will be offering a homeowner turf grass management workshop in April.
Bruce Schweiger, Turf Grass Diagnostic Lab Manager from the OJ Noer Turf Grass Research and Education Facility will discuss multiple aspects of turf grass management from seeding to disease and insect control. The workshop will be held on Monday, April 7th from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at the Town of Holland town hall facilities in Holmen. The town hall is located at W7937 County Road MH Holmen, WI.
Bruce Schweiger has over 30 years of experience in turf grass management as a golf course superintendant and technical specialist for Scotts, Reinders and Midwest Turf. He will discuss turf grass variety identification, spring management and weed control, along with some of the popular diseases and how to control them.
The workshop will offer basic techniques that homeowners can use to improve their turf grass. This workshop will be an introductory workshop and is intended for the homeowners wanting to learn more about growing turf in their yards. Hands on demonstrations will take place and activities and presentations will be outside, weather permitting, so please dress accordingly. The workshop will still be held in the town hall in case of inclement weather.
