(3/28/14) As summer approaches, many people are gearing up to run or bike in events all over the state.
To help prepare for these races, Katie Larkin and Bill Larkin from Black River Memorial Hospital's Rehabilitation Department will be hosting two educational opportunities: a Biking Clinic and a Running Clinic.
The Biking Clinic will be on April 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at Black River Memorial Hospital. Participants will learn all about the parts of a bike, biking equipment, bike and helmet safety, types of bikes (road, tour, and mountain), injury prevention and important pedal and sitting positions.
The Running Clinic will be on April 24th at Black River Memorial Hospital, with two sessions available.
1. The Basic Running Clinic starts at 6:00 p.m. Beginners will learn how to safely start a running program, the basics of footwear, injury prevention tips and the benefits of running.
2. The Intermediate Running Clinic starts at 7:30 p.m. The more advanced runners can learn about different types of races, how to improve running times and important nutrition for running.
