Former Assembly Leader Charged

(3/29/14) Former state Assembly Majority Leader Bill Kramer has been charged with sexual assault.

Prosecutors announced yesterday that Kramer, a Republican, faces two counts of second-degree felony sexual assault for allegedly cornering a woman, then tried to kiss and grope her. According to the criminal complaint, investigators say Kramer gave two different accounts to the incident. If convicted, Kramer faces up to 200-thousand dollars in fines and 80 years in prison... his first court appearance is scheduled for April 14.
