Tornado Drills Will Go As Scheduled

(4/24/14) The tornado drills in Wisconsin and Minnesota will go as scheduled today, even with some dark skies, heavy rains at times, and a rumble of thunder or two.  NO SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE OCCURRING.

Remember that we will be using LIVE Emergency Alert System codes today so these alerts will go through weather radio.  There will also be warnings coming out from multiple NWS offices at the same time so if you'd prefer all this information NOT to air, you would have to intercept the drill(s).

Timetable will go like this...

1:00 p.m. - Test Tornado Watch (EAS code - TOA)

1:45 p.m. - Test Tornado Warning (EAS code - TOR)

2:00 p.m. - Test ends (Wisconsin is done for the day)

6:55 p.m. - Test Tornado Warning (EAS code - TOR) for Minnesota counties only!

7:10 p.m. - Evening test in Minnesota ends.
