(4/26/14) Several locations across the state are playing host to National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day today.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, residents dropped off over 19 tons worth of unwanted and/or unused prescription drugs during last year's event. Attorney General J-B Van Hollen says the removal of some potentially dangerous drugs, such as Oxycodone, can go a long way towards preventing future addictions. A list of collection sites can be viewed on the U-S Department of Justice website (http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/index.html).
Local sites do include the Jackson, Monroe, and Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office's.
