Storms Cause Damage in Area

Strong thunderstorms were causing havoc throughout the area this morning

A line of severe thunderstorms brought about flood warnings in all of Jackson County as well as parts of Trempealeau, Clark and Monroe County.  One report from the town of Franklin had upwards of 6 1/2 inches of rain having fallen overnight.  At least one vehicle was reported off the road due to flooding.  Highway 53 in Trempeleau County near Galesville was closed in both directions due to water over the road.  The National Weather Service reported 3 inches of rain falling in Sparta because of a severe thunderstorm this morning.  Flash Flood Warnings were posted in several counties until 10 this morning.  More rain and thunderstorm activity is expected to pop up for the rest of today and tomorrow.
