Returning National Guard members who missed shooting their buck while serving their country will have an opportunity to hunt in a special arrangement negotiated by Senator Kathleen Vinehout and Representative Chris Danou.
For the more than 32-hundred soldiers returning from deployement, the DNR worked with lawmakers to find a way to allow a special hunt without passing a law.
The department will work to link landowners, who have crop damage caused by nuisance deer, with returning soldiers interested in hunting, according to Matt Frank, Secretary of the WI Department of Natural Resources.
Veterans interested in participating in the crop damage deer hunt should contract Representative Danou at 888-534-0091 or Senator Vinehout at 877-763-6636.
