19-year-old from Merrillan Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

A Merrillan man was arrested last Friday on multiple drug charges. On November 10th, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of suspicious activity at a gas station in the Village of Hixton.

Deputies and the K9 Unit arrived at the scene to investigate, and authorities made contact with the suspicious person, 19-year-old Nickolas Peterson of Merrillan. Upon conducting a search of Peterson’s vehicle, authorities found 2 ounces of suspected marijuana, and 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The drugs were individually packaged.

Peterson was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of possession with intent to deliver, along with other drug related charges.
