(2/26/12) Kent Funmaker, 46, of Richfield, MN/formerly of Black River Falls, WI passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis, MN.
He was born June 19, 1965 in Black River Falls to James and Ruth (Greyhair) Funmaker. Kent grew up in Black River Falls before moving to South Dakota to attend school. From South Dakota, he moved to the Minneapolis and Richfield area where he has resided until his passing. Kent worked as a roofer, helping move furniture, and was a cook at Majestic Pines Casino for a period of time. He was an avid sports fan. Kent is survived by 3 sons, Cory Jackson Funmaker, Marty and Shane Crowfeather-Funmaker; 4 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James Funmaker Jr., Eliza Green, Kyle Funmaker, Sybil Greyowl, Ethel, Daniel, Eloise, Brent, and Myron Funmaker; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Ruth; brother, Gilbert. Traditional services will be held Monday, February 27, 2012, 12 noon, at the Ho-Chunk District One Community Center, Black River Falls, WI. Burial will follow in Decorah Cemetery, Black River Falls. Family and friends are invited for visitation Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Family and friends are also invited for visitation Monday at the Ho-Chunk District One Community Center from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
