(11/3/12) Helen M. Turnmire, age 76, of Black River Falls, and formerly of Blair, WI. died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 in the Black River Memorial Hospital.
She had been a resident of the Country Terrace in the Town of Brockway and recently a resident of Family Heritage Care Center. She had also resided with her daughter in Blair.
Helen was born in Black River Falls on July 10, 1936 to John and Ella (Zahrte) Netzel. She was raised in Millston and graduated from Black River Falls High School.
On May 23, 1962, she married Gordon Turnmire. He preceded his wife in death on July 3, 2008.
Helen worked at the former Millston Motel, she did mossing, helped her husband with logging, worked at a cannery, and did assembly work at Deca-Mat.
Helen enjoyed fishing, and she attended the Family Worship Assembly in Black River Falls.
Surviving are 5-daughters, Roxanne Welker and Deb Mensink, both of Blair, Theresa (Mike) Sather, Sparta, Robin Schultz, Montana, Johann Harelson, Arkansaw, WI., 6-sons, Gordon Turnmire, Jr., Merrillan, Scott and Travis Turnmire, both of Black River Falls, Todd Turnmire, Onalaska, Jeff Turnmire, Madison, WI., and Jim Harelson, Mendota, WI., 23-grandchildren, and many, great grandchildren.
Memorial funeral services for Helen M. Turnmire will be at 1 P.M. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at the Buswell Funeral Home (715-284-2231) 16 So. 2nd St.. Pastor John Cowles will conduct services. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the time of services.
