(12/12/12)  Pearl M. Bock, age 82, of Black River Falls, WI. died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 in the Black River Memorial Hospital.   

  Pearl was born on May 14, 1930 in the Town of Springfield, Jackson County to Simon and Helga (Hegeness) Simonson.

     She graduated from the Rose Hill School and Taylor High School.

     She was employed at the former Avalon Café in Black River Falls, and as a nursing assistant at the Colonial Hospital in Rochester, MN. She later attended the Winona Business College graduating in 1950 with a degree in accounting and stenography.  Pearl then was employed at the Jackson County Superintendent's Office, Social Service, and Highway Departments.

      Pearl married Raymond "Min" Bock on December 28, 1957.  They built a new home on Riverview Drive and resided there until Min's death on Nov. 18, 1990.

      Pearl was a member of Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church, ELCW, American Legion Auxillary, BRMH Partners, Jackson County Prime Time Board, and a former member of the Skyline Golf Course. She was an assistant leader of Campfire Girls and the ELC Visitation Team.

     Her interests and hobbies included love of the outdoors, taking walks, going cross country skiing, watching sunsets, sunrises, cloud formations, and nature, gardening, plants, reading, baking, and knitting.

    Surviving are her daughter, Nancy (Steve) Hulback, grandchildren, Chris (Laura) Hulback and Katie (Josh) Brobeck, and two, great granddaughters, Olivia Grace and Madeline Mae Hulback, step children, Gary (Sylvia) Bock, Ruth Ann Bock, Linda Engen, step grandchildren, Andrea (Paul) Miller, Michael Wallace, Jennifer and Nicholas Powless, Tammy Davis, and Scott Hanson,  5-step great grandchildren, two brothers, Sidney Simonson and Leonard (Betty) Simonson, two sister-in-laws, Geraldine Simonson and Arlene Rudolph, and many nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Eric Bock, one sister, Elsie (Edwin) Olson, 5-brothers, Omer, Alvin, Harley (Ona), Joseph, and Gordon Simonson, step son-in-law, Arlo Engen, and step grandson, Eric Bock.

    Funeral services for Pearl M. Bock will be at  11 A.M. Saturday, December 15, 2012 from the Buswell Funeral home (715-284-2231) 106 So. 2nd St. Black River Falls.  Pastor Eric Bakken will conduct services and burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.

    Memorials may be given to either the Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church, to Black River Memorial Hospice, or to Black River Memorial Hospital Partners.
