(2-17-13) Deloris A. Kampen, age 87, of Black River Falls, WI. and formerly of the Town of Franklin, Jackson County, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 in the Pine View Care in Black River Falls where she had just recently moved to from the Pine View Terrace. Deloris was born at the Lien Homestead in the Town of Franklin, Jackson County on April 1, 1925 to Ed and Lillian (Greensheild) Lien. She attended East Franklin Rural School.
On July 12, 1944, she married Norman Kampen in the Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Town of Franklin until 1965 when they sold the farm, and Norman became a truck driver.
Deloris worked at Babson Corporation in Galesville, WI. She later moved to Black River Falls in 2006 and resided in the River Grove Apartments.
She was a member of the Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Taylor, WI. where she served as the church custodian for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, making quilts, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are one son, Michael (Ann) Kampen, Allentown, WI., one daughter, Vicky Oresnik, Kewaskum, WI., one brother, Carrol Lien and Myrna Keehner, Buchanan, West Virginia, one sister, Edith Noren, Blair, Wi. 2-sister-in-laws, Norma Lien, Blair, WI. and Betty Kampen, Black River Falls, 6-grandchildren, and 7-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, on February 17, 1971, 2-sons, Arlyn and Lonnie, 5-brothers, Lavern (Bud), Raymond, Lyle, Osborn, and Edmond, 4-sisters, Pearl Young, Victoria Hurley, Contance Larkin, and Verna Vlahakis.
Funeral services for Deloris A. Kampen will be at 1 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2013 from the Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Taylor, WI. Services will be conducted by Pastor Benjamin Ahlers-Iverson and burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of services. Torgerson's Funeral Home (715-284-4321) of Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
