Richard A. "Dick" Chernach

(2/20/13) Richard A. "Dick" Chernach, age 75, of Black River Falls, WI. died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in the Black River Memorial Hospital. 

   Dick was born in Black River Falls on May 8, 1937 to Joseph and Mary Chernach. He was raised in Merrillan, WI. and attended the Snow Creek Rural School.

    He was a hydralic mechanic  in the U. S. Air Force from 1954-1977 and served in Vietnam.

    Dick married Chintana "Toy" Tamoei in Korat, Thailand on January 26, 1972.  The couple lived in New Mexico, and Washington State before moving to Jackson County.

    After retiring from the service, he worked for Empire Gas in Merrillan, WI. and for Falls Oil Company in Black River Falls.

    Dick was a car enthusiast and a hobby mechanic.  He enjoyed living across from the airport in the Town of Brockway because he was fascinated with airplanes from his days in the Air Force.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and working around the house.

    Surviving are his wife, Chintana "Toy", 2-daughters, JoAnna Chernach-Lujan, Neveda, and Donna (Scott) Drangstveit, Black River Falls, 2-nephews, Steve Palchik and Jeff Chernach, 3-grandchildren, and 3-great grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary, , 3-brothers, Tony, Rudy, and Frank, 2-sisters, Pauline and Josephine, a son, Rick, and a granddaughter, Tara.

   Funeral services for Richard A. "Dick" Chernach will be at 11 A.M. Saturday February 23, 2013 at the Buswell Funeral Home (715-284-2231) 106 So. 2nd St. Black River Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.  Burial with military honors will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Merrillan, WI.
