(3/5/13) Rose J. Haukeness, 50, of rural Strum, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at her home, following a courageous fight with cancer the past 14 months.
Rose was born February 9, 1963 in Whitehall to Raymond and Mary (Wolfe) Suchla. She married Timothy L. Haukeness on August 8, 2008 in Strum.
Rose will forever be remembered by her passion for working with children and loving all of those around her. Her genuine compassion for others was displayed in her life's work: raising 3 sons, helping children learn as a teacher's aide, and caring for others during her years as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend. She inspired others with her dedication to succeed despite all obstacles. She worked hard to achieve her dreams as she graduated from Globe University in 2010 with a Business Administration degree. Her contagious smile, witty sense of humor, and unconditional love will always be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends.
Rose is survived by her husband, Timothy of Strum; three sons, Matt (Stephanie) Bisek of Strum, Andy (Sara) Bisek currently deployed in Afghanistan and Lauren Haukeness at home; siblings, Susan Suchla and Sharon (companion, Jim Ekern) Suchla both of Whitehall, Marilyn (companion, Dr. Ranjit Sood) Suchla of Casa Grande, Ariz., Ronald Suchla of Independence and Janet Suchla of Rock Island, Ill.; father-in-law, Glenn Haukeness of Strum; nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gary Suchla and her mother-in-law, Lou Haukeness.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Strum, with Rev. K. D. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in West Beef River Cemetery at a later date.
