(4-29-13) Helen Snow, age 97, of Black River Falls and formerly of Alma Center died Sunday, April 28, 2013 in the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls.
Helen was born on August 3, 1915 in Badger, MN. to Valentine and Antoinette (Bednarek) Jankowski. She was raised in the Red River Valley Area of Minnesota. She married Ivor Snow in Marshall County, MN. on Oct. 3, 1939. The couple moved to Jackson County in 1950. Following Ivor's death on Oct. 6, 1987, Helen moved to Black River Falls. Helen enjoyed doing crafting, canning, and baking. She loved to write letters. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Black River Falls, and she was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Alma Center. Helen worked in various cafes in Black River Falls. Surviving are her 3-sons, Richard (Mary Lou) Snow, Janesville, WI., Raymond (Joanne) Snow, Rockford, Il., and Ronald (Ruthann) Snow, Madison, WI., 3-daughters, Clarice (Robert) Kutz, Alma Center, WI., Margaret Krueger, Madison, WI., Patricia (Charles) Hawley, Black River Falls, 20-grandchildren, and 25-great grandchildren, and 1-great, great grandchild. In addition to her husband, Ivor, she was preceded in death by her parents, 4-brothers, Edward, Joseph, Thomas, and Raymond, and three sisters, Frances, Rose, Lucy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11 A.M. from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Black River Falls. Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh will conduct services and burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Alma Center, WI. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of services. Buswell Funeral Home (715-284-2231) of Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
