(1/14/14) Linda R. Larson, 64, of Melrose passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospice, La Crosse.
She was born April 22, 1949 to Glenn and Delia (Pfaff) Fisher. Linda graduated from Melrose-Mindoro High School, Class of 1967. July 13, 1968, she married Larry G. Larson. Linda worked alongside her husband on the family farm since 1977. She was a hard working woman, tackling any chores that needed doing. Upon retirement, she enjoyed many special trips with her husband, taking in the sights across the United States. She also enjoyed attending auctions and collecting antiques. She was very proud of her Jewel Tea collection, belonging to the National Autumn Leaf Collectors Club.
Linda was an amazing grandmother and enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. Grandma was known for playing card games with the grandkids and showering them with special treats and cards in the mail, cooking family dinners and baking cookies, pies and other tasty goodies.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Larry; their four children, Julie (Mike) Williams, Hastings, Minn., Valerie (Chris) Franks of North Port, Fla., Jennifer (Jason) Massart of Sparta and Brian Larson of Sparta; their grandchildren, Steven, Jay and Samantha Williams, Madelyn Maye Franks, Justin and Jonathan Massart and Nikolas Larson; her brothers, La Vern (Cheryl) Fisher of Melrose, Allen (Jackie) Fisher of Ettrick and Terry (Terri) Fisher, Onalaska; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers-in-law, Ronald and Jim Larson.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at Zwickey Funeral Homes, Melrose Chapel with the Rev. John Ashland officiating. Burial will be in the Melrose Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the funeral home, and from 12 p.m. until time of service Wednesday.
