(5-3-14) Martha R. "Marti" Schultz, age 66, of Black River Falls and formerly of Arcadia and Whitewater, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in the Black River Memorial Hospital.
Marti was born in Arcadia on April 16, 1948 to Harry J. and Stella E. (Schock) Schultz.
She was raised in Arcadia and graduated from high school in 1967. She received her BA in elementary education and library science from the UW-Eau Claire. She received her Master's Degree from National-Louis Univ. in Illinois in 2000.
Marti taught school for 34-years at Lakeview Elementary and Lincoln Elementary Schools both in Whitewater, WI.
In November of 2011, she moved to Black River Falls and resided at the Pine View Care Center.
Marti's hobbies and special interests included traveling, bowling, playing golf and playing cards with her bridge club.
Surviving are her sister, Delone (John) Hoagenson, Black River Falls, one brother-in-law, Al Walz, Bloomington, MN, one niece, Natalie Walz, St. Louis Park, MN, one nephew, Bradley (Mindy) Walz, Eagan, MN, a special cousin, Marilyn Bishop, other cousins, and her dear teaching associates.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Mary Jane Walz.
Memorial funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Black River Falls. Services will be conducted by Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Arcadia, WI. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
