(5/5/14)  Samuel Lon Davis, 83, of Black River Falls, died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Black River Memorial Hospital.

   Graveside services fir Samuel Davis with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.

   Samuel was born June 12, 1930 in Romance, WI to Walter and Bertha (Hicks) Davis.  At the age of 14 he moved too Belvidere, IL and later to Rockford, IL.

   Samuel married Joy Brown on June 28, 1957 in Rockford, IL.  The couple lived in Rockford for two years before moving to Black River Falls.

   Samuel was a tile setter in the La Crosse area for many years Samuel was a member of Bricklayers Local #1.  He retired from Poellinger's Inc. in 1995. Samuel and Joy operated Davis Dairy Way for 45 years. 

   He served in the Korean War and was a member of Thompson-Redcloud VFW Post #1959.

   Samuel was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors gardening and hunting.

   Samuel is survived by his daughters, Marcia (Robert "Sonny") Hagen of Black River Falls and Brenda (Brian) Hesse of Black River Falls; 4 grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Moeller, Samuel Hagen, Kayla (Kevin) Rowan and Jason (Erin) Hesse; 2 great grandchildren, Lilly and Logan; one sister Thelma Wallace of Rockford, IL and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

   Samuel was preceded in death by his wife Joy on December 2, 1997, his parents, Walter and Bertha, a sister, Jessie Davis and a brother, Virgil Davis.
