David L. Kraus

David L. Kraus, 78, of Hixton, WI passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012, at his home, while under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice, Black River Falls.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at The United Church of Christ, Indian Mission. Reverend Roger Wentz will be officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow the services at The United Church of Christ Cemetery. Lunch will be provided after burial.

Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday, February 22, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., at Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls. Family and friends are also invited for visitation Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at The United Church of Christ.

Mary Payer

(2/15/12) Mary Payer, 89, of Black River Falls passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at her home, while under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice.  Native American services will be held Friday, February 17, 2012, 12 noon, at Mary Payer’s Residence, W7634 Kingswan Rd., Black River Falls.  Andy Thundercloud is presiding over services.  Burial will follow in the Ho-Chunk United Church of Christ Cemetery, rural Black River Falls.  Family and friends are invited for visitation Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the residence.  Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences are available at www.buswellfuneralhome.com.

John K. Whiteman

(2/14/12) John K. Robert E. "Raisin" Jungkans

(2/14/12) Robert E. "Raisin" Jungkans, age 52, of City Point, WI., formerly of Paddock Lake, WI. died Sat. Feb. 11, 2012.  He was born on August 6, 1959 in Zion, Illinois to Robert and Lillias (Diana) Jungkans.  He graduated from Central High School in Paddock Lake, and then he attended UW-LaCrosse, and UW-Parkside.  He married Deanna Thomas in LaCrosse, WI. on Sept. 19, 1999.  The couple lived in Florida, and then they moved to City Point, Jackson County, Wisconsin where they owned and operated Raisins Refuge Tavern for the last 10 years.  Raisin liked to hunt, ice fish, open water fish, astronomy, geology, playing golf, and camping.  He loved all animals.    Surving are his wife Deanna, 1-brother, Chris Jungkans, Paddock Lake, 1-sister, Nancy (Jane Brownfield) Jungkans, Mason, MI., and several cousins.   He was preceded in death by his parents.  There will be no funeral service or visitation. Torgerson's Funeral Service (715-284-4321) is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Steven R. Wieman

 (2/14/12) Steven R. Wieman  59, of Tomah died at his home surrounded by his loving family  on February 12, 2012.  Funeral  Services  will be held on Thursday, February 16,2012, 11:00 A.M.  at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah . Pastor  Edwin W. Stigen. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday  from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial with military honors  by American Legion Post #201 will be at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Tomah.
 

William W. Russell

William W. Russell, age 67, of Millston and Black River Falls, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 in the Univ. of WI. Hospital in Madison, WI. 

Bill was born in Mather, WI. on June 4, 1944 to Walter William and Angela (Higbee) Russell.    He was a member of the National Guard, he served in Vietnam, and he was discharged in 1970.  He married Dorothy Straight, and she preceded him in death.  Bill was employed as a mechanic at Big Chief Truck Stop in Black River Falls, he drove fork lift at Toro in Tomah, and he worked at Northern Engraving.  He and his wife operated a lawn mowing business in Jackson County. Surviving are 3-brothers, Harvey Russell, California, Fred Russell, Kentucky, and Robert Russell, Shell Lake, WI., one sister, Virginia Olson, Kendall, WI., 3-nieces, 2-nephews, 2-great nieces, 2-great nephews, and one great, great niece.  In addition to his wife Dorothy, he was preceded in death by 2-brothers, Wilbur and Archie Russell.

Graveside memorial military honors will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, Februry 18, 2012 at Brookside Cemetery in Millston.  Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements, and online condolences may be sent to www.buswellfuneralhome.com

 

Elma L. Hoff

Elma L. Hoff age 89 of Blair, WI died on Sunday,  February 12, 2012 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair, WI.  Funeral services will be held on Friday Feb. 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ansgar Catholic Church in Blair.  Visitation will be held on Thursday Feb. 16, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair.

 

Barbara J. Brohmer

(2/9/12) Barbara J. Brohmer, age 52, formerly of Tomah, WI, passed away February 2, 2012.  A memorial service will be held Monday, February 13, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah.  Pastor Ed Stigen will officiate.  Burial will follow in the La Grange Cemetery, rural Tomah.  Family and friends are invited for visitation Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Online condolences are available at ww.torkelsonsonfuneralhome.com.

 

 

 

Rose Ann Dahl

(2/8/12) Rose Ann Dahl, 77, of Minneapolis, Minn., died Monday, February 6, 2012 at Bethany Covenant Health Care in Minneapolis. 

Rose was born September 18, 1934 in Trempealeau County, to Frank and Veronica (Marsolek) Pientok.

Survivors include a brother, Luke (Mary Lou) Pientok of Arcadia, Wis., two sisters, Clara Armbuster and Agnes (Melvin) Wilke both of Cudahy, Wis., a sister-in-law, Linda Pientok of Independence, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Helen Kuka, Polly Pronschinske, Francis Pientok,  two infant sisters and an infant brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Tim Oudenhoven officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Marion M. Watenphul

(2/7/12) Marion M. Watenphul, 91, of Fairchild, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Family Heritage Care Center, Black River Falls.  Funeral services for Marion Watenphul will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fairchild.  Reverend Ricky Bertels officiating.  Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Fairchild Cemetery.  The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
