(12/4/11) Todd Mayo scored an important late-game layup, than added an emphatic win-clinching dunk, as Marquette upset the University of Wisconsin Saturday, 61-54.
The loss snapped the Badgers’ home winning streak at 23 games in a row. Darius Odom-Johnson led the way for the Golden Eagles with 17 points. Mayo added 14 as Marquette stayed undefeated through seven games. The Eagles played without suspended starting point guard Junior Cadougan. Jordan Taylor led Wisconsin with 13 points, leading a late-game comeback attempt that fell short. Marquette spent a lot of the game against its in-state rival holding double-digit leads. The Badgers have lost two in a row now.
