Here are the
stories:

Vander Blue hit 7-of-8
from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line, leading Marquette to a 79-69
victory Saturday and a season's sweep of Pitt.  Blue finished with 19 points and
he added six rebounds as the Golden Eagles recaptured a first-place tie in the
Big East Conference standings.  They are 9-3 in conference play and 18-6
overall.  The Panthers came into Milwaukee ranked 16th, but the 18th-ranked
Eagles controlled the game hitting 57 percent of their shots.  Pitt's defense
was ranked fifth in the nation, but couldn't stop shooters like Blue and Davante
Gardner, who scored 14.  He came up big when he was needed, accounting for 10 of
Marquette's 11 points during a late-game surge.  The layup which capped the
surge also gave the Golden Eagles their biggest lead of the game at 72-54 with a
little over four minutes left.  Pitt's conference mark falls to
8-5.

-2/17-

According to the Sagarin
Ratings, the Wisconsin Badgers have played the second-toughest schedule in the
country and it doesn't get any easier this afternoon.  The Badgers host
13th-ranked Ohio State at the Kohl Center in a Big Ten Conference showdown with
a noon-time tipoff.  Wisconsin is 4-2 versus ranked teams in the Big Ten and the
Badgers are the only team in the country with multiple wins over opponents
ranked in the AP top 4.  Both the Badgers and the Buckeyes bring 8-4 conference
records into the contest.  Wisconsin is ranked number-20 and carries an overall
17-8 record.

-2/17-

The Wisconsin women's
hockey team was 3-for-9 on the power play and that was enough.  The Badgers made
sure they will play again at LaBahn Arena's home ice by beating Minnesota Duluth
Saturday 3-1.  The combination of that victory and Ohio State taking two losses
this weekend means the Badgers can't finish any lower than fourth place.
Wisconsin's record is 18-9-2 overall, including 14-9-2 in the WCHA.  Madison
Packer had a hand in all three Badger goals.  She got an assist when Alev Kelter
put UW on the scoreboard 11 minutes into the game, then made it 2-0 with her own
goal at the seven-minute mark of the second period.  And, Packer got her third
goal to give Wisconsin an insurance score on a deflection in the third period.
The difference came on power plays.  The Badgers killed five and scored three
times themselves.  Wisconsin wraps up its regular season at home this afternoon
at 4 p.m.  The game against Minnesota Duluth is senior day, with five seniors
acknowledged during a pregame ceremony.

-2/17-

Matt Kenseth led more than
a third of the race – 26 laps – and finished fifth at Saturday's Sprint
Unlimited season-opening exhibition race at the Daytona Speedway Saturday night.
Kevin Harvick held off Greg Biffle to claim the victory in the first Gen-6 race
held.  Several contenders were knocked out early in a big wreck on
lap-15.

-2/17-

Bill Haas told over the
lead at the Northern Trust Open Saturday, carding a seven under par 64 to go
three strokes up on three golfers tied for second place.  Pewaukee native Mark
Wilson moved up into a tie for 45th by shooting a one under par 70 and he is at
even par going into today's final round.  Madison's Jerry Kelly also moved up
into a tie for 58th after an even par round Saturday.  He is two over for the
tournament.
