Anyone who thought the 2013 football season would be a picnic in the park for Black River Falls got a sharp dose of reality Friday night.
The Tomah Timberwolves, who were blown away by Menomonie last Friday scored on the very first play of the game and took the Tigers to overtime before Black River Falls prevailed 27-20.
Tomah shut down the Tiger passing attack, but Ryan Millis was a beast on the ground as the Tigers upped their record to 2-0. Millis has a pair of scoring runs, but it was Ethan Young's quarterback sneak in the overtime that proved to be the difference in the game.
The Tigers are now 2-0 on the year. They travel to Arcadia to open the conference season next Friday night. (6:15 on 99.7fm.)
